Micki's relationship with music began at North Carolina A&T State University, where she studied Journalism and Mass Communications. What started as a creative outlet eventually became a career, bringing her back to Charlotte after graduation and into a growing presence across the city's music and event scene. Her work has taken her from art shows and artist showcases to club residencies, festivals, and major brand activations. Her client list has included names such as Jordan, Red Bull, NFL, 7 For All Mankind, Tampax and Miller Lite. But the throughline has always been the same: Micki doesn't simply show up with a playlist. She curates.
That distinction is especially important in a hospitality setting. A DJ has to understand the room, recognize when people need energy and when they need space, and know how to move an audience without forcing the moment. At Battle of the Babes, that means creating a soundtrack that can move with the entire evening.
